The Wonders
The Wonders, also known as The Oneders, were a fictional band created for the 1996 movie "That Thing You Do!" directed by Tom Hanks. The film tells the story of a group of teenagers from Erie, Pennsylvania, who formed a band in the 1960s and achieved unexpected success with their hit single "That Thing You Do!" The Wonders were portrayed by real-life actors and musicians, including Tom Everett Scott, Johnathon Schaech, Ethan Embry, and Steve Zahn. Interestingly, the song "That Thing You Do!" was written specifically for the movie by Adam Schlesinger, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. While The Wonders were a fictional band, their catchy song and the movie's success contributed to the revitalization of interest in the music of the 1960s.
