The Notations
The Notations were an American soul group that originated from Chicago in the late 1960s. Comprising of five members, lead vocalist Clifford Curry, Charles Williams, Bobby Thomas, LaSalle Matthews, and Norman McLean, they signed with the Curtom Records label. Notably, The Notations gained popularity with their hit single "I'm Still Here," which peaked at number 40 on the R&B charts in 1975. Despite a limited commercial success, they garnered a dedicated fanbase and are often recognized for their harmonious vocal arrangements and intricate songwriting. The group's music falls into the sweet soul genre, showcasing their smooth vocal deliveries and poignant lyrics. Though their active period was relatively short-lived, with their last single released in 1976, The Notations still left an indelible mark on the soul music scene with their distinctive sound.
