The Buggles
The Buggles were a British electronic pop duo formed in 1977. Comprised of Geoff Downes and Trevor Horn, they gained significant recognition for their debut single "Video Killed the Radio Star" in 1979, which became the first music video played on MTV. Their album "The Age of Plastic" was released the same year, showcasing their unique sound and innovative use of synthesizers. However, the duo disbanded shortly thereafter, with Downes joining the progressive rock band Yes, and Horn becoming a renowned producer and founding member of the band Art of Noise. Despite their brief tenure, The Buggles left a lasting mark on the music industry, demonstrating the rise of the music video era and the potential of electronic pop music.
