Sublime
Sublime is an American ska punk band that was formed in Long Beach, California, in 1988. The band's original lineup consisted of Bradley Nowell as the lead vocalist and guitar player, Eric Wilson on bass, and Bud Gaugh on drums. Throughout their career, Sublime blended elements of punk rock, reggae, ska, and hip-hop, creating a unique and influential sound. They gained significant popularity in the mid-1990s with their self-titled album, "Sublime," which included hits like "Santeria" and "What I Got." Tragically, just two months before the release of their breakthrough album, Nowell passed away due to a heroin overdose in 1996. Despite this devastating loss, Sublime's music continued to resonate with audiences, ultimately becoming iconic within the alternative rock genre. In the years following Nowell's death, the remaining band members collaborated with a new lead vocalist, Rome Ramirez, and released an album titled "Yours Truly" in 2011. Sublime's legacy endures through their energetic performances, devoted fan base, and enduring influence on the ska punk and reggae fusion genres.
