Shaman is a Russian symphonic metal band that was formed in 1996 by vocalist and guitarist, Alexander "Warlock" Osipov. Known for their unique blend of folk and classical elements with heavy metal, they have released 10 studio albums, showcasing their diverse musical style and captivating storytelling. Shaman initially gained recognition through their debut album "Ritual," which featured guest appearances from notable musicians such as André Matos and Tobias Sammet. Interestingly, Shaman's second album, "Reason," was a direct continuation of the story presented in their debut album. Throughout their career, the band has undergone lineup changes, with Osipov being the sole consistent member. Despite these changes, Shaman has consistently delivered powerful live performances, captivating audiences around the world with their theatrical stage presence and masterful musicianship.
