Remy Zero
Remy Zero was a rock band from Alabama, active from 1989 to 2003. The group achieved moderate commercial success, but is best known for the song "Save Me" which served as the theme song for the hit TV series Smallville. Originally formed by childhood friends, the band's original lineup consisted of Cinjun Tate, Shelby Tate, Cedric Lemoyne, Louis Schefano, and Gregory Slay. They released their debut album, self-titled Remy Zero, in 1996, which helped them gain recognition in the alternative rock scene. This was followed by their sophomore album Villa Elaine in 1998, featuring the song "Fair" which received significant radio airplay. However, it was their third album The Golden Hum released in 2001 that brought them mainstream success, largely due to "Save Me." Despite touring extensively and collaborating with artists like Radiohead, the band faced internal conflicts and disbanded in 2003. Remy Zero's unique blend of alternative and post-grunge elements along with Cinjun Tate's distinctive vocals made them a notable presence in the musical landscape of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
