Paul Dukas

Paul Dukas was a French composer born in 1865. He is best known for his composition "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," which became popularized by Disney's animated film, Fantasia. Dukas studied at the Paris Conservatoire and was taught by renowned composers, including César Franck. Although he composed several notable works, including an opera and symphony, Dukas was a perfectionist and often destroyed many of his compositions, leaving behind a relatively small body of work. Despite this, his music is admired for its intricate craftsmanship and innovative use of harmony. Dukas passed away in 1935, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the influential composers of his era.
