Joe Esposito

Joe Esposito is an American musician who gained prominence in the musical landscape during the 1960s and 1970s. He rose to fame as a member of the vocal group The Brooklyn Dreams, which also featured his cousin Eddie Hokenson. The band garnered success with their hit single "Heaven Knows" in 1978. In addition to his work with The Brooklyn Dreams, Esposito achieved notable success as a songwriter and background vocalist for various artists, most notably Elvis Presley. He sang backup on Presley's live performances and recorded several tracks with him, including the well-known "You Gave Me a Mountain." Esposito's connection with Presley stemmed from a close friendship they developed in their early years. Tragically, Joe Esposito was present during Elvis Presley's untimely death in 1977, and he served as one of the pallbearers at the icon's funeral. Despite enduring such a loss, Esposito continued to contribute to the music industry as a successful songwriter and performer throughout the following decades, fostering a lasting legacy in the musical landscape.
