Clannad

Clannad is an Irish folk group that emerged in the early 1970s and has since gained worldwide recognition. Initially formed by siblings Moya, Ciarán, and Pól Brennan along with their uncles Noel and Pádraig Duggan, the band's name comes from the Gaelic word for "family." While their early music primarily drew upon traditional Irish roots, Clannad ventured into blending those sounds with contemporary elements, forging a unique sound that would become their trademark. One of their defining moments arrived in 1982 when they collaborated with singer-songwriter Enya, their sister, who later pursued her tremendously successful solo career. Together, they achieved mainstream success with their hit song "Theme from Harry's Game," which topped the charts in the UK and Ireland.
