Bon Iver

Bon Iver is an American indie folk band founded in 2006 by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. The name "Bon Iver" is derived from the French phrase "bon hiver," meaning "good winter," reflecting the project's origins in a cabin in northwestern Wisconsin where Vernon retreated to recover from personal setbacks. The band's debut album, "For Emma, Forever Ago," was independently released in 2007 and received critical acclaim for its raw, emotive sound and Vernon's haunting falsetto. This success led to a record deal and wider distribution. Bon Iver's self-titled second album, released in 2011, won the Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album. Known for its evolving sound, the band has since released several albums, including "22, A Million" in 2016 and "i,i" in 2019, both of which showcase a more experimental approach, incorporating electronic elements and complex arrangements.
