Bittersweet Symphony

The original key of the song "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve is D major. It was released in 1997 as a lead single from their third studio album "Urban Hymns." Richard Ashcroft, the lead vocalist and songwriter of The Verve, wrote the song. It is worth mentioning that the song's iconic orchestral arrangement was sampled from an instrumental version of The Rolling Stones' song "The Last Time." This caused legal issues as the band had not obtained proper permission to use it, leading to a loss of royalties for The Verve. The melody is characterized by its haunting and melancholic vibe, created through the combination of orchestral strings, emotional lyrics, and Ashcroft's passionate vocals.
