Hatikvah

The national anthem of Israel, "Hatikvah" (meaning "The Hope" in Hebrew), was written by Naftali Herz Imber in the late 19th century, with music composed by Samuel Cohen. Originally, it served as a Zionist anthem, expressing the Jewish people's longing for a homeland. In 1948, when the State of Israel was established, "Hatikvah" was adopted as the national anthem.
