Take Five

"Take Five" by Dave Brubeck is a jazz standard originally recorded in the key of E-flat minor. Released in 1959 as part of the album "Time Out," it has since become one of the most popular and recognizable jazz compositions. The song was composed by Brubeck's saxophonist, Paul Desmond, who also performed alongside Brubeck and his quartet. Interestingly, "Take Five" was the first jazz single to sell a million copies. The melody is characterized by a catchy and distinctive 5/4 time signature, with a memorable saxophone intro that has captivated listeners for decades.
