Roxette
Roxette is a Swedish pop-rock duo comprising Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle. They rose to international fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s with chart-topping hits like "The Look," "Listen to Your Heart," and "It Must Have Been Love." Formed in 1986, Roxette achieved significant success with their distinctive blend of power pop and ballads. Their breakthrough album, "Look Sharp!," released in 1988, propelled them to global stardom. Throughout their career, they sold over 75 million records worldwide, making them one of Sweden's most successful music acts. Despite Marie Fredriksson's health challenges following a brain tumor diagnosis in 2002, Roxette persevered and continued creating music, releasing albums and embarking on tours. Their musical contributions solidified their place as icons in the pop-rock genre and left an indelible mark on the musical landscape.
