Nokia
Nokia, originally founded in 1865 as a pulp mill in Finland, made its mark in the technology industry and became a global leader in telecommunications. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Nokia dominated the mobile phone market, producing iconic devices like the Nokia 3210 and the indestructible Nokia 3310. However, the company faced difficulties with the rise of smartphones and experienced a decline in market share. In 2011, Nokia partnered with Microsoft and adopted the Windows Phone operating system for its smartphones, but this collaboration failed to regain their former prominence. Eventually, Nokia sold its phone business to Microsoft in 2014. Despite this setback, Nokia has reinvented itself as a leading provider of network infrastructure, focusing on 5G technology and helping to shape the future of telecommunications.
