Iris is an American alternative rock band formed in 1993 in California. The group, initially named "Forgiving Iris," was founded by Johnny Jewel and Scott Kilpatrick. After releasing their debut album, "Disconnect," in 1995, they changed their name to simply "Iris." Known for their unique blend of synth-pop and rock, Iris has consistently evolved their sound over the years, exploring different genres and incorporating electronic elements into their music. Their breakthrough came in 2003 with the release of their third album, "Awakening," featuring the hit single "Annie, Would I Lie to You?," which received significant airplay on alternative radio stations.
