Gotye
Gotye, whose real name is Wally De Backer, is a Belgian-Australian musician known for his hit song "Somebody That I Used to Know." He was born in Bruges, Belgium, and moved to Australia at the age of two. Gotye began his musical career in the early 2000s, releasing independent albums and gaining a small following. However, it was his 2011 release, "Making Mirrors," that catapulted him to international fame. The album's lead single, "Somebody That I Used to Know," featuring Kimbra, topped charts worldwide and won numerous awards, including Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2013. The song's distinctive sound, with its use of samples and layers of vocals, showcased Gotye's experimental approach to music. Despite his success, Gotye decided to take a break from the music industry in 2014 to focus on other projects. He has mentioned his interest in visual arts, and even created an animated short film to accompany one of his songs. Although he has not released new music since his hiatus, Gotye's unique style and talent continue to captivate audiences around the world.
