Ensemble Alexandrov

Ensemble Alexandrov, also known as the Alexandrov Ensemble, is a Russian military choir and dance group with a rich and fascinating history. Founded in 1928 by Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov, this ensemble has been entertaining audiences around the world with their impressive vocal harmonies and captivating performances. One interesting fact about the group is that during World War II, they played a crucial role in boosting the morale of Soviet troops and civilians with their uplifting songs and patriotic music. Sadly, tragedy struck in 2016 when 64 members of the ensemble, including the conductor and many lead vocalists, were killed in a plane crash en route to perform at a military base in Syria. Despite this devastating event, the ensemble continues to carry on their legacy, showcasing their talent and keeping Russian music traditions alive.
