Boxcar Racer

Boxcar Racer was an American rock band formed in 2001 by Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker, known as members of the renowned pop-punk band Blink-182. The project was inspired by the duo's shared love for more serious and darker music. They released their self-titled debut album in 2002, which received mixed reviews from critics but gained a dedicated fanbase. The album showcased a more mature and introspective sound, with raw and heartfelt lyrics. Interestingly, Boxcar Racer featured guest appearances from Tim Armstrong of Rancid and Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans. Despite the success and the possibility of becoming a full-time band, internal tensions led to their disbandment the same year. However, Boxcar Racer's legacy remains significant for influencing the alternative rock and emo genres, and for showcasing a different side of the talented musicians involved.
